GPs

Dr Tina Blight
Tina is a Canberra local who initially trained and worked in Canberra and regional NSW, most recently Cooma. During that time Tina regularly participated in medical student and GP Registrar supervision and teaching. Tina brings diverse rural skills and adapts them to our lovely family practice.
Tina loves to share her love for health care with the Doctors of the future. Tina is interested in all the different areas of general practice but also takes a special interest in women’s health, preventative health, and minor surgical procedures.
In her free time Tina is an avid skier and marathon runner and an amazing mother to her two children.

Dr Caroline Khin-Chen
Caroline has been a GP at Wakefield Gardens for a number of years. Caroline participates in mentoring and teaching registrars at Wakefield Gardens Surgery.
Caroline is interested in helping a vast range of patients with their health needs, taking a personal and supportive role in their care. Caroline has two children that she is extremely proud of and supports them in achieving their life goals.
Caroline is fluent in both English and Burmese and has a special interest in preventative health, family health care and aged care.

Dr Jane Foley
Jane is a Canberra local who returned to work in Canberra after completing her medical and GP training in Victoria. Jane also volunteers with the royal flying doctor’s service. Jane is passionate about women’s health, preventative care, and chronic disease management.
In her free time jane enjoys skiing and being outside. Jane also loves to spend time in the garden. Jane also enjoys doing renovations on her house.

Dr Tara Hillier
Tara completed her primary medical degree at UNDF in Perth, graduating with honours. She has been living in Townsville for the last 8 years with her husband and two children. Prior to medicine, she practised as a Registered Nurse, specialising in paediatrics.
Tara has a keen passion for women’s health and family health, especially pregnancy care, where she held a Specialist role in Antenatal Clinic in Townsville prior to her move to Canberra. She also has a passion for veterans’ health and is part of the defence community herself, as well as chronic disease management and a true love of paediatric medicine. Tara has also spent a lot of time teaching GP Registrars and medical students. Tara is also qualified to do cosmetic injectables.
Tara is looking forward to making Canberra her new home and exploring all the exciting things it has to offer with her family.

Dr Emma Cunningham
Emma is the proud mother of two gorgeous children and enjoys spending time with her husband family and watching her 5 year old perform in her dance routines.
Emma completed her training in Rural NSW, looking after the local folks of Bombala and Cooma both in the GP rooms and in the emergency setting of the hospitals.

Nurse

Tabitha
Tabitha is new to the Wakefield Gardens team and is currently covering for maternity leave. Tabitha has extensive training and experience with a Bachelor of Nursing and a master of midwifery. Tabitha is enjoying being apart of the Wakefield Gardens Surgery family and getting to know patients. Tabitha relocated to Canberra as her husband is with the military.
When not working Tabitha enjoys traveling with her husband and two teenage sons.

Eboney
Eboney moved with a young family from Darwin and husband is in the defence force. Eboney has been a peadiatric nurse for 20 years, with a special interest in childrens health. Eboney is also a unit leader with the local Junior Guides (Girl Guides). Eboney is looking forward to expanding her skills and knowledge in general practice. Eboney is a participant in our pram walking group.

Cat
Cat is a Registered Nurse who has recently moved from Brisbane and has particular interest in wound care and childhood immunisations. She is passionate about empowering patients to lead their own healthcare journey. She also recently completed a research project in Nursing.
Outside of work, Cat is enjoying meeting new people here in Canberra and going for hikes and bike rides

Kristy Stanford
Kristy is originally from Cooma and moved to Canberra in 2021, with her husband, two teenage children and their family dogs Bennjy and Bruno. After growing up in rural NSW Kristy hopes to bring her experiences and skills to the practice.
Kristy has had 15 years medical receptionist experience prior to moving into the position of Practice Manager. Kristy is currently studying her Diploma in Practice Management and in her spare time enjoys family trips home to Cooma or to the South Coast.
